WebSphere Application Server and OpenSSL
Got a call today from a Business Partner asking some really tough security-related questions on WebSphere Application Server Express, but sometimes, what seems most obvious is not. That particular question seemed simple enough: Can WAS Express 5.1.x use the OpenSSL libraries instead of the IBM provided ones? Humm, welll, I think so… lemme check… huh……

Well, after months of having one installed, launching the front page every 2nd day and thinking of how I would start, I decided to just start writing – anything – to start getting content in there. There’ll be lots ot trial-and-error, I’m sure, but I’m thinking it’ll probably become a great reference for all the…

After having wasted so many hours making my family website look good, I’ve decided I had enough with the clunky user interface that Mambo offers. I mean, the stupid rich-text editor wouldn’t work consistently across platforms, it would blink non-stop, and using other editors proved to be major pains. The fact that the development is…

It should be no surprise that I am also constantly on the lookout…

Simply plug in your digital camcorder, FootTrack then imports your videos on your HDD, provides ways to categorize your videos (labels, descriptions, etc) and lets you compress them in the codec of your choice. You…

Given the usual press, you may think all IBM employees ever use on their work computers is Lotus Notes, but I assure you that much more is available to us internally – although Lotus Notes is our email/application platform, and that’s a good thing. I’ve not lost email service for a good few years now,…

Well, some of you may recall the trouble I went through the last time I go the fantastic idea (NOT) to try and use my Thinkpad’s Embedded Security Subsystem. For those not fortunate enough to have a recent Thinkpad, some systems come with this security chip, the ESS, which in essence provides a hardware cryptographic…
