Dapper and Automatix Rock!
Even though the upgrade was painless, I always feel better with a clean install when moving to a new OS release. So I burned the Dapper CD and put it into my T30 for a clean install. Everything went smooth, except maybe for a little noise on buttons in dialog boxes. Didn’t have time to investigate that one yet. I also did a clean install of Dapper in VMware.
At first, I thought it was incredibly fast for an install. I then realized the CD acts as a Live CD, and offers the option to install.. duh. As I had read on Automatix, I decided to give it a try and I’m really impressed at the time it’s saved me in installing all those apps/JDKs/plugins. Wow!
So, now that this bit is done, on to real work: blazing the trails of re-installing Eclipse 3.1.2 (or maybe Calipso?) and my beloved VMware tools, of course.
